Waste Insight Series
The Waste Insight Series is a set of research briefs developed to examine how waste management systems function in practice across Nairobi.
The series adopts a phased approach, beginning with field-based observation to capture on-the-ground conditions and system behaviour, followed by deeper analysis of waste generation, material composition, and recovery pathways. Subsequent briefs build toward identifying practical, evidence-based interventions that respond to real system dynamics.
By grounding analysis in observed realities and lived experiences, the series aims to contribute to the development of waste management solutions that are context-specific, scalable, and aligned with circular economy principles.
